Mines at a glance
Mines is a Minesweeper-style Stake Original built in-house and playable Only on Stake. Rounds are short: a bet, a few picks and a cash out or a mine.
| Item | Detail |
|---|---|
| Provider | Stake Originals |
| Game type | Mines, Minesweeper-style grid |
| Grid | 5 reels × 5 rows, 25 tiles |
| Mines per round | 1 to 24 |
| RTP | 99.00% |
| House edge | 1.00% |
| Volatility | Set by the mine count |
| Bet modes | Manual and Auto, with Advanced rules |
| Minimum bet | Equivalent of $0.0001 |
| Bonus buy | No |
The same 1.00% edge applies at every mine count. The mine count only changes how often a round pays and how much each gem adds.
What sets Mines apart
Five mechanics shape every round of Mines. Each one is set or used from the bet panel or the grid itself.
Mine count from 1 to 24
The mine count acts as the volatility switch. One mine leaves 24 gems and small steps; 24 mines leave a single gem worth 24.75×.
Cash Out after any gem
After every safe pick the round can stop. Cash Out pays the bet times the multiplier on screen and closes the grid.
Rising multiplier
Each gem pushes the multiplier up. The step grows as safe tiles run out, because every later pick carries more risk.
Random Pick
Random Pick opens a tile chosen by the game. It changes nothing in the odds, since every closed tile hides a mine with the same chance.
Instant rounds
A round settles the moment a mine shows or Cash Out is pressed. The next one starts on the next press of Bet, with no shared timer.
How a round of Mines works
A round of Mines runs on a 5×5 grid of 25 tiles. The player sets the bet and the number of mines, then opens tiles one by one.
- Sign in and open Casino, then the Stake Originals tab, then Mines.
- Enter the bet amount in the Manual tab.
- Set the number of mines with the Mines slider, from 1 to 24.
- Press Bet to start the round.
- Open a tile, or use Random Pick to let the game choose one.
- Press Cash Out after any gem to collect the bet times the current multiplier.
A gem raises the multiplier and keeps the round alive. A mine ends it at once, and the bet is lost.

Mine count, risk and the Max Multiplier
The mine count is the risk setting of the game. The Gems counter beside the slider shows how many safe tiles remain: 3 mines leave 22 gems.
- more mines: fewer safe tiles, bigger multipliers per gem, more frequent losses;
- fewer mines: safe tiles appear more often, multipliers grow slowly;
- the Max Multiplier label under the grid shows the payout for clearing every gem at the chosen mine count.
With 3 mines the label reads 2,277.00×: clearing all 22 gems has odds of 1 in 2,300, and 99% of 2,300 is 2,277. A low count suits a run of small steps, a high count packs the payout into one or two picks.
Chance and multiplier by mine count
Each safe pick is a draw without replacement: the chance equals safe tiles left divided by tiles left. Multiplying those fractions gives the chance to clear a run of picks.
| Mines | Gems opened | Chance | Multiplier |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 1 | 96.00% | 1.03× |
| 1 | 5 | 80.00% | 1.24× |
| 3 | 1 | 88.00% | 1.13× |
| 3 | 5 | 49.57% | 2.00× |
| 3 | 10 | 19.78% | 5.00× |
| 3 | 22 | 0.04% | 2,277.00× |
| 5 | 5 | 29.18% | 3.39× |
| 10 | 3 | 19.78% | 5.00× |
| 24 | 1 | 4.00% | 24.75× |
The multiplier column is 0.99 divided by the chance, rounded to two decimals. The game window always shows the exact figure before the next pick.
Mines odds calculator
Enter the number of mines and the number of gems to open. The calculator returns the pure probability of opening all of them and the matching multiplier.
No pick order changes these numbers. Every tile has the same chance of hiding a mine, and mine placement is fixed before the round starts.
Manual, Auto, Advanced and hotkeys
Mines offers three ways to bet. Manual gives full control of every pick, while Auto plays chosen settings for a set number of rounds.
- Manual: pick each tile, cash out at any moment;
- Auto: chosen tiles and betting rules for a set number of rounds;
- Advanced: Reset or Increase By a percentage on a win or on a loss;
- Stop on Profit and Stop on Loss end the Auto series at a set amount;
- hotkeys: enabled in the game settings for keyboard play on a computer.
Auto suits a fixed plan repeated many times. The rules run exactly as set, so the limits belong in place before the first round.
18+Mines sits in the Stake Originals tab of the casino lobby. 18+ only.
Is Stake Mines provably fair
Mine positions are set by a random number generator before the round begins. Provably fair seeds let the player recheck those positions after the round.
- the Fairness button under the grid opens the seeds;
- the server seed is committed as a hash before play;
- the result can be recalculated on the operator's tool or a third-party verifier.
The method is covered in the fairness guide. A drop game with the same 99.00% RTP is Plinko, and other grid titles are listed in the Originals list.
Mines on a phone and the wallet behind it
Mines runs in a mobile browser and in the Stake app, a progressive web app. On iPhone it is added from Safari through Share → Add to Home Screen; on Android, from the browser menu with Install app.
Bets come from the main wallet in crypto or Indian Rupee. Casino limits in INR are a max bet of INR 100,000,000 and a max profit of INR 10,000,000.
| Route | Deposit | Withdrawal |
|---|---|---|
| Indian Rupee | Wallet → Deposit → Indian Rupee → a third-party payment page; credited within up to 24 hours | Bank transfer with the IFSC code, up to 3 business days |
| Crypto (BTC, ETH, USDT, LTC and others) | No maximum; amounts under $0.01 are not processed automatically | No maximum; minimum and fee depend on the coin |
Install steps sit in the app guide. Deposit routes and timings are in the deposits guide.
Tile patterns, progressions and the house edge
No tile pattern, mine count or betting system moves the house edge off 1.00%. Mine positions are fixed before the first pick and stay hidden until the round ends.
Low mine counts
One to three mines bring frequent small wins and rare big ones. The long-run return is still 99.00% of all bets.
Raising bets after a loss
Progressive systems such as Martingale change the size of the next bet, not the chance of a gem. A losing run grows the bets fast and hits the casino max bet sooner.
Corners, edges and repeat patterns
Every closed tile carries the same chance of a mine. Corners, diagonals or the tiles of the last round add no information.
- each round is separate from the last;
- a long run of gems does not make a mine more or less likely;
- Stop on Loss and a fixed budget keep a session within limits.
